So I knew that the sadness would pass and that all would be groovy...but I had no idea that I would be SO happy SO fast. I had the best weekend. I am funny again. I love myself today and stuff is f*#ing A! Rock on Partyers. I have some news aswell. I have a cell phone that you can get the number from my home answering machine and I am moving at the end of March so if anyone wants to help...You know you are welcome. Yeah. Life is good and full of promise. Hoorah for the sunshine.

Woohoo
I wonder if everyone is as excited as I am that this is the year of the rooster?! It just so happens that I am born in the year of the rooster. Lucky me. I can tell that this is going to be a great year. It is already off to such a great start. I can't wait to see what my future holds for me! It must be good. I am just so excited. I hope that the year is as great for everyone else as it is for me.

Having Stuff
You all know that I have started school now...Good yes.
I have been required to buy too much stuff. My little Shoebox home is so stuffed now that Aur is starting to go Nero on me...I wouldn't have thought that I would need a drafting table, computer, library...(Not yet purchased of course...) for school. They didn't really warn me before starting either which is a bummer. I don't have computer time right now besides on Wednesdays so I am not reachable for now by computer/email...I will let you all know once I get a hold of more constant access to the WWW and that magical galaxy of Hyberness.

This Day
January 12, 2005
So I am in my second week at school. Again. But other than the busy schedule, new stuff and tons of supplies to be bought it is going fairly well. I am glad that I learnt some stuff about computers last year and this summer (thanks Mike and Grant) because I am required to learn Macs now and it isn't the same.
Besides that, there isn't too much to say. Aur is waiting to go sailing for the month of February and we are still looking for a dojo...I am still working at LD and Scott is back from Pickering (Toronto)...Good, good.
Hope to hear from everyone soon and I look forward to seeing you all soon.

A Job and an Education
So I finally applied to the school and they have accepted me as long as my student loans go through.
LD is going alright. There is so very much to learn and people are very sensitive about their pictures. I think it would be easier to be in the Lab just developing the pics instead of at the counter being the middle man. I do have a lot of repeat customers from Starbucks though.
Also Christmas is almost here. I am very excited about that. I already decorated a week and a half ago. I was very anxious and I am being made fun of for being so early but it is nice to wake up to and it is a motivator for card-making...
I hope all of you are well and I hope to talk to you soon.

I did, I did...
Sorry about the delay but Blogger wasn't letting me update my blog! Yeah, so I got the LD position, started my training on the 6 and just had my second day in my store (Yates) today. I have a lot to learn about pictures and all that but it should be pretty fun and I think it will keep me busy whenever Aur is out of town. Speaking of Aur being out of town, he left last monday and will be gone for three weeks. The nights are lonely sleeping alone but other than that I am so inexplicably busy (I think that word means what I think it means) that I don't really get a chance to miss him. I still haven't written my application letter to the school yet so I am being a big lazy head about that but I still really want to go so it will happen. I just went over to IKEA this weekend with my parents and we spent some money and had a whole gay ol' time. I hope all of you are well and I hope to hear from you soon.

I think I got one
So I think I got a position at London Drugs at the Photo Finishing Counter. That should be fun. And I am still in the process of applying to the Interior Design...Things look pretty groovy. Not much else going on in the brain so I am sorry about the lame upkeep on my blog.

Still Looking
Well, I have been applying away to all kinds of places. It turns out that Student Loans will only cover my tuition so I will have to keep on working once I start school but millions of students do that so I am sure that it wont be the end of the world. Just have to pull my socks up some...Mike, thank you for the tip! I did apply but unfortunately they informed me that they are only looking to hire full time.
I will keep you posted.

Not Valid
Well, I was really hoping to get onto EI so that they would sponsor me to go take this one year Interior Design program at the Pacific Design Academy. I was very sad to hear this morning that unfortunately, because I quit Starbucks to go back to school I am not a candidate for EI. That sucks. So I guess I will be getting a job to hold me over until January when the program starts and I will be (hopefully) getting student loans to get further and further into debt. I am not having a good day. I feel like I am the biggest-lazy-silly person with no direction and no motivation to support myself. Yuck! What a sick feeling.

Fantastic
It is done. I have cooked my first complete Thanksgiving meal. I am proud and tired. It took me 7 hours but I did it. Made everything from scratch. Apple-Butternut squash soup, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, stuffing and dressing, candied yams, turkey, gravy, peas and carrots and pumpkin pies. A lot of food and so much fun. I sort almost panicked when I tried to clean out the turkey and called Aur in to do it for me but other than that...I really did good. I wish I could post some pictures of it for you all to be so amazed by my talents but I don't know how to.

Thanksgiving
Last weekend I had the luxury of eating of of Aur's mom's incredible Thanksgiving dinners. It was incredible. This Saturday I get to try my hand at cooking up a Viger Thanksgiving dinner for none other than the Vigers. Well, and Aur. I am pretty nervous about cooking this great big meal and don't have a recipe for candied Yams. If any of you have any please email me! Thanks.
Besides that I worked on my resume this week and am getting ready to get out there and apply, apply, apply. Hope something comes up!
Not much else to report...I finished my scarf box though so I will get pictures of it ASAP.

Coffee and Stuff
I can't come up with anything good to write about so brace yourself, this is going to be a mindless rant:
Tim Hortons makes a fine cup of Joe. It was the one thing I woke up for every morning this summer. I would stop in on my way to work at 6:45 and pick up a coffee and a bagel. Yum-eee. Then I would try and handle shifting gears and not letting the cup drip (which for some reason did about 90% of the time) and going over the speed bumps and...It was all worth when I got to my desk, sat down and had that first sip of goodness.
Since Aur has to go to the Unit Tuesday and Thursday evenings I try to spend this time with my Mom and tonight we plan to watch Something's Gotta Give and girltalk and maybe even paint our toenails.
My Dad finally got up the courage to get one of his wisdom teeth out yesterday. It was nice to be able to hang out with my parents and Aur in the middle of the day and watch some of the Horatio Hornblower episodes. For any of you who have not heard of this and like myself have a tendancy to get hooked to Television Series on DVD, this is a good one. There are six episodes in all and they are about a British Naval Officer in the 1790's (I think). Anyways, they are good and I recommend you rent them.

Octidlyober
I have been out of town a lot and I apologize to anyone who has come a lookin' for some news and has found none.
The first of the month is Aur's Birthday and we had a nice little celebration. I gave him presents a day early and we went out for a wonderful dinner to a great little restaurant on Government Street called Brasserie L'école. It was incredible. If anyone is looking to go I suggest you have an assortment of appys to share along with a platter of cheeses. The staff was awesome and the food was exquisite. I highly recommend everyone go there. They even served us the best tasting Chocolate Truffles ever on the house for the Birthday Boy. Really really great place!
Besides that I have been keeping very busy. I looked into some schooling options and found what appears to be my dream degree. A bachelor in Applied Science in Interior Design. Really could it be any better? Well, yes, it could be on the Island so that I could attend! Unfortunately for me this excellent program is offered at Kwantlen University College in Richmond. Uber-sad for me. Aur is stuck here for the next two years at least and we really can't afford to have two apartments and the school is too far from his parent's for me to commute...So I am at groud zero again. I am thinking of applying to Micheals though. Crafts are fun and at least I would feel like such a big Stain.

Progress
I finished the napkins.
I also took a glass beadmaking course yesterday at Starfish Glassworks in downtown Victoria. It was amazing! Everytime I get to do something creative I realize how much it all means to me. I got to make about thirty or so beads and I had the opportunity to really try out some neat stuff. While everyone else was making nice round beads with spikey things I was venturing into the land of chili peppers and strawberries. I really loved it. The teacher (who doesn't really teach anything but is there to answer any questions) kept saying how big my beads were...Yeah. I would recommend this workshop to anyone and they also have a glassblowing workshop which is what I am hoping to take next.

Good Intentions
So I started a new project without finishing the old ones. Now I have some napkins to sew from cheap curtains I found. As I sat down with my wine and set up the sewing machine, the material and put in the first disc of season three of Sex and the City I noticed that I had to wind up a new bobbing of red thread. Shucks. I hate that. I wish I had a room in the house where the sewing machine would be set up and I would have all the colors of thread I needed and working on a project would just be that easy. Anyways, after reading the instructions again on the proper bobbing-winding steps I started to sew...then the thread snapped. Double shucks. I re-threaded the needle and started over. Then the thread snapped again. And again, and again. I think six times in total. Apparently, I couldn't read instructions as well as I thought and I had done something wrong. Triple shucks. I fixed the problem, started up again and to my complete dismay, the needle broke. Damn, crap shucks. After replacing the needle, I started up again and one napkin later, that needle broke. Damn, crap double shucks. By this point I had drank way more wine than I had intented and I was putting in the second disk of season three. I had but one needle left and I really wanted to get this stuff done and out of my parents way! I replaced the needle again and started on my second line of my second napkin. Then the thread snapped again...

Hello
I have been so ridiculously busy since last Friday. My last day of Co-op. I went up to Whistler on the weekend and had a really great time. We got to go up the mountain and sight see and were fed incredible food the whole time we were there. Fun.
I also managed to fit in a trip to Ikea which I really needed even though I couldn't really get anything. It is my favorite place and the meatballs are so good. Did you know that when eating in the restaurant part of Ikea you can enjoy a personal size bottle of delicious red wine?! Yes, favorite place.
Now I am trying to keep up with all the projects that I want to accomplish and it is proving to take me way longer than I had planned. My coolest invention yet has to be the scarf box I am just painting up today. It is very practical and I can't wait to get it home and house all my scarves and hats in it.
Hope you are all being treated just as well,
Deb

Taking out the Goods
I do believe Lorna is right. Fall is here. And because I live in Victoria I can say that with a glitter of excitement in my eye. It is very exciting to take out my sweaters from the back of the closet. Bring out my box of Scarves (that is my favorite!) and tuques and vests and socks.
I will definetely miss the Summer but I am looking forward to taking advantage of Autumn. The thing I miss the most about living out east is the changing of the leaves. All the vibrant colors that make up the foliage for Miles are so beautiful. For all of you out there, don't take it for granted because the next thing you know winter will be here and unfortunately for you it is going to get really F#!*ing cold.
