UGH.

(You may contact me regarding the correct pronunciation of the title word.)
Well, it is now Thursday a week after my extraction. For those of you who send me well wishes, thank you. For the rest of you, well whatever, nothing for the rest of you.
It all happened quicker than I had imagined however I have been having a bad reaction to the pain pills and the antibiotics, (I have tried two different kinds now), that makes me vomit...a lot. Not the best thing for recovering after this kind of surgery. So I feel like throwing up all the time and I can just barely stay concious from the pain. Other than that, great.
s'all for now,

Deb

Losing my Wisdom

Today is the day I go in to get my wisdom teeth removed. I have been putting this off for many years and I am not looking forward to the experience at all. I have my grumpy-pants on despite my attemps to to wear something else and I am nervous. I look forward to it all being over and I will update on my progress as it happens...

Birdie Numnums

After more than a week of having nothing to report I am sitting here with all kinds of things racing in my mind...So much I want to share; where sould I start?! Biggest to smallest, important to less important, in order of relevance to me...so many choices. I think I will go with reverse chronological.
Right now, I am feeling under the weather. My family and Aur are all flu-ish as am I. It really sucks. I have always had a problem with getting sick in the summertime. It really upsets me to feel yucky when the sun is shining like never before. (Okay, I know it has always shone and today isn't all that different than yesterday, last week or ever, but it feels like it when I am sick in the summer.)
On my ride home today I got pooped on by a bird. It landed right on my hand/wrist area. A whole range of emotions flooded as I realized what had transpired. Let me share some of these with you:
Wow, my wrist feels cool compared to the rest of me
(Look down)
Oh my, I got pooped on!
Huh, I would have thought it would be a warm sensation as aposed to a cool one
But then I guess it did just fly through the air at a pretty rapid rate
It really feels cool though...more like cold actually
Boy am I ever glad I am wearing gloves and a leather jacket
(Chuckle)
I wonder if any of those idiots who ride without a shirt on ever get pooped on
I wonder what I am going to use to clean it off...
All that just cause a load landed on one of my extremeties. I know it is incredible really.
Before that I guess the thing to talk about is how I have insurance on my motorcycle again (Cougar) and how I love to ride and how great she is. I went for a ride out to Sooke with my dad and it was an awesome good time.
Previous to that incident, the starter on the car (Snowracer) blew on me again so that sucked.
Aur also left this week to go on the boats to get his sealegs. He called a couple of times and he is having a gay ol' time doing lots of fun stuff and other things. He also hasn't thrown up yet which is very cool.
Boat = bateau
Sick = malade
Vomit = vomir
Thanks for visiting and come again,
Deb

Back to Reality

After a beautiful long weekend it is only too soon that reality comes and nips me in the butt.
Aur and I went up to Port Alberni (the Salmon Capital of the world) this weekend. I had never been up island before so I was very excited about this wannabe road trip. I hardly slept Friday night and woke up early Saturday to begin packing. Like a good girl, I packed for the both of us. Bathing suits, wine, toothbrushes, did I mention wine? Yeah. So then we went over to my parents for breakfast and hit the road at around two thirty.
I drove because Aur was on crutches. (He got hurt at work on Friday and couldn't walk. We spent all of Friday evening/night at the Royal Jubilee Hospital. I could go on and on about what we saw there...) So I didn't mind driving since I have been driving so much lately anyways. The Snowracer and I get along pretty well and she hasn't let me down even though she can be quite the workout at times.
It took just under three hours to reach the Port and we only made one quick stop at a candy shop on the way. They had lots of fudge! We used their loos, bought some fudge and then on the way out, I saw it there. It was so silent and looked so alone that I had to go to it. You guessed it! A Slush Puppie Machine. I haven't had the pleasure of a Slush Puppie in a dozen years! (Slurpies just don't cut it for me, even when you put gummie candies in them) I had a hard time chosing a flavour and I thought it best not to go multi-flavour after so long, but after a few groans from Aur I went with Cherry. It was so good. Even the cup was a genuine Slush Puppie cup.
When we got into town it was hard not to notice the exorbitant number of Cold Beer and Wine stores. Just about every corner had one. As Mike pointed out, it was comparable to the number of Star$ in Vancouver...
The view was really spectacular and our hotel was nice. We were pretty lucky with that because we just called around numbers from the phone book and reserved at the first place that had availability! It was actually the nicest place in town.
Sunday we went out to Sproat Lake and chilled out on the beach reading, tanning, swimming. It was good fun and very relaxing. The water was really warm and they had the last two water bomber planes anchored there so Aur was very excited and told me lots of stories about forest fire fighting.
Before heading home yesterday we stopped at the Cod Father Fishery and got us a selection of Smoked Salmon. It is SO delicious. They had many different flavours and it was hard not to buy a lot of everything but we managed to chose four kinds and leave with very happy smiles on our faces!
Arriving back at the Shoebox yesterday was a little sad but we had a great time and I cherish that.
Salmon = saumon
Tasty = goute bon
work = travail
I will hopefully hear from all of you soon,
